A New Home for Kamuning Church: From Loss to Restoration

November 23, 2024 by LFJ Ministries

In Kamuning, Palawan, a Seventh- day Adventist church once stood. After many years of use, the government of Puerto Princesa City issued a notice stating that the land would soon be used as a public market space and that the church would need to vacate.

On April 16, 2024, the church was demolished. The Palawan Mission tried to raise funds to purchase a new piece of land. Unfortunately, each landowner they contacted was unwilling to agree to an installment payment plan. After six months of searching, a miracle hap- pened—someone called and shared that a donor was willing to give the church 1,000 square meters of land. Two weeks ago, we visited the site, and this coming Sunday, we will begin cleaning the area to prepare for building the new church.

We continue to pray that God will answer the prayers of the Kamuning members, who have been without
a proper place to worship for six months. Every Sabbath, they gather under a tree to praise God, but when it rains, they are forced to return home, and the service is cut short.

We are hopeful that sometime before the end of 2024, their prayers will be answered, and they will finally have a place to call their church again. The estimated cost to build a small church is $7,000.

May the Lord bless us all as we work toward this goal. Thank you for your prayers and support.
